Jogo da memória feito de fotografias 3x4 (frente e costas) da artista Aaaalexandra Martins. Não é um jogo de iguais: o par se encontra não pela identidade, mas pela correspondência entre o que difere. Afinal, frente e costas de um mesmo corpo não são opostos, mas camadas de uma mesma existência. Ao afirmar que as costas também são rosto, a obra amplia o modo como nós reconhecemos: ver deixa de ser gesto frontal e passa a incluir aquilo que não controlamos, mas que nos constitui tanto quanto o que escolhemos mostrar. O jogo não termina quando, quem joga, percebe que também está sendo jogado.
Memory game made from 3×4 photographs (front and back) of the artist Aaaalexandra Martins. It is not a game of matching identical images: the pair is found not through identity, but through the correspondence between what differs. After all, the front and the back of the same body are not opposites, but layers of the same existence. By asserting that the back is also a face, the work expands the way we recognize: seeing ceases to be a frontal gesture and comes to include that which we do not control, yet which constitutes us just as much as what we choose to reveal. The game does not end when the player realizes that they, too, are being played.
