“A Água me Leva (2026) é um vídeo monocanal que acompanha o encontro entre um homem negro e um adolescente nas margens do oceano Atlântico. Vestidos de forma idêntica, os dois atravessam a água, a areia e as rochas em gestos silenciosos que evocam memória, cuidado e continuidade. A obra parte do Atlântico Negro como território de ausência e permanência, onde a água guarda as histórias interrompidas da travessia transatlântica e também a possibilidade de reencontro. Entre cura, ancestralidade e imaginação, o vídeo propõe o mar não como fronteira, mas como caminho de retorno, conduzido pelas águas e pelas vozes que insistem em permanecer vivas.”
A Água me Leva (2026) is a single-channel video that follows an encounter between a Black man and a teenager on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. Dressed identically, the two move through the water, sand, and rocks in silent gestures that evoke memory, care, and continuity. The work draws from the Black Atlantic as a territory of absence and permanence, where the water holds the interrupted stories of the transatlantic crossing, as well as the possibility of reunion. Between healing, ancestry, and imagination, the video proposes the sea not as a boundary, but as a path of return, guided by the waters and by the voices that insist on remaining alive.
