Confluências entre a Pele-Território e a Pele-Rede, a segment of the Afrofaces project, is a photographic polyptych that investigates the complexity and dignity of the Black body in the central region of Rio Grande do Sul. In direct dialogue with the theme of The Five Skins, the work transforms the epidermis into a living archive of resistance, memory, and confluence. The visual ensemble juxtaposes the ancestral permanence of quilombola women and leaders of African-derived traditions (the Territory-Skin) with the transnational flow of African students (the Network-Skin). Through the aesthetic excellence of light and texture, the work uses the portrait as a political tool of pride to break with historical erasure, revealing a space where trajectories of rootedness and of flow meet.
