Corpo que sustenta (2026) integra a pesquisa Primeira Pele, na qual Lívia Passos investiga as relações entre corpo, memória e ancestralidade. Pintada sobre um lençol de algodão, a obra representa uma mulher negra caminhando enquanto carrega um recipiente sobre a cabeça, inspirada na memória da mãe da artista, que transportava água para abastecer a casa. A pintura transforma essa lembrança em uma homenagem às mulheres que sustentam a vida por meio do cuidado, do trabalho cotidiano e da resistência, revelando a força presente nos gestos muitas vezes invisibilizados.

Body That Sustains (2026) is part of the research project First Skin, in which Lívia Passos investigates the relationships between body, memory, and ancestry. Painted on a cotton bedsheet, the work depicts a Black woman walking while carrying a vessel on her head, inspired by the artist's memory of her mother, who carried water to supply their home. The painting transforms this memory into a tribute to the women who sustain life through care, everyday labor, and resilience, revealing the strength embodied in gestures that are so often rendered invisible.
