Entre Raízes e Pele (2026) presents a body emerging from the water as roots wrap around it and pass through it, suggesting bonds of memory, territory and ancestry. Made on raw cotton with watercolor and acrylic paint, the work explores transparencies, textures and tones inspired by the mangrove to build a landscape in which body and environment become inseparable. In dialogue with the decolonial proposal of the Five Skins, the painting understands the skin as a space of encounter and continuity, where marks, histories and relationships are inscribed. Between roots and skin, to exist is to remain connected to the world that shapes us.
