Nyame Dua (2026) is a mixed-media painting on canvas that gathers traces of ancestral knowledge, spiritualities, and memories that survived attempts at erasure. Drawing on the Adinkra symbol that gives the work its name, the painting imagines continuities for these inheritances, building a space where Black bodies inhabit the sacred and other possibilities of existence. In dialogue with the fifth skin, Community (Global Environment), the painting affirms the inseparability of body, nature, and ancestry, proposing a vision in which life is sustained by relationships of care, belonging, and continuity.
