Retornar às raízes (2026) articula pintura em acrílico e instalação ao transformar tranças em fibra sintética em extensões que ultrapassam os limites da pintura e ocupam o espaço expositivo como raízes vivas. Suspensa sobre a água, a figura feminina evoca o retorno ao ori como lugar de espiritualidade e cuidado. Ao compreender o cabelo como elemento sagrado, a obra aproxima corpo e ancestralidade, dialogando com a filosofia Sankofa, que compreende o retorno às origens como um gesto de fortalecimento para seguir adiante.

Returning to the Roots (2026) combines acrylic painting and installation by transforming synthetic fiber braids into extensions that transcend the boundaries of the painting and occupy the exhibition space as living roots. Suspended above the water, the female figure evokes a return to the ori as a place of spirituality and care. By understanding hair as a sacred element, the work brings together body and ancestry, engaging with the philosophy of Sankofa, which understands returning to one’s origins as an act of strengthening oneself in order to move forward.
